The evening opened with remarks by Brady, a 7th grader at Hellenic Classical Charter School who had talked about how Reading Rescue changed his life and educational trajectory. He told us about trying out for a play, enjoying school, and a huge increase in his confidence.
Closing remarks were delivered by the NYC Schools Chancellor, who said that literacy is a key factor in closing educational gaps and working towards educational equity, and we couldn’t agree more.
